Drypoints and Etchings
Drypoints and etchings are original works of art with each impression individually
inked, wiped and printed on a printing press from a metal plate by the artist, on
acid free, all rag paper. Each impression is slightly different and can be influenced
by various techniques and methods.
Drypoints are created by the artist inscribing an image upon a copper plate
with an steel needle in reverse. The scratched plate is inked by hand leaving
ink in and around the scratches.Because of the intense pressure of the
printing, the plate wears out quickly allowing very few prints to be made.
